Draft for review
A working draft, written around how the clinic actually runs. It is not legal advice and has not been checked by a solicitor. It has been completed with your answers about how the clinic actually runs. Have it reviewed before you publish it — particularly the liability section, which is the part that matters most if something ever goes wrong.
Who we are
Æmilia Aesthetics is a nurse-led aesthetics clinic at SSV Suites, 470 Holloway Road, London, run by Amelia, a nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
These terms apply when you book, attend or pay for treatment with us, and when you use this website. Please read them before booking.
Who we can treat
You must be 18 or over. We do not treat anyone under 18 for cosmetic purposes.
We cannot treat you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and there are other conditions and medications that make particular treatments unsuitable. Some of these only come to light at consultation.
Consultation and consent
Every treatment includes a consultation. We will assess your suitability, explain what a treatment can and cannot do, set out the risks and alternatives, and answer your questions.
Nothing goes ahead without your written, informed consent. There is a cooling-off period before any first treatment, and you will never be asked to decide on the spot.
We may decline to treat you. We will do that if a treatment is not clinically appropriate, if your expectations could not safely be met, or if we believe waiting is the better answer. If we decline at consultation, you will not be charged for the treatment.
Your medical history
You must give complete and accurate information about your health, your medication, your allergies and any previous aesthetic treatment, and tell us if anything changes between appointments. Treatment decisions are made on what you tell us, and incomplete information can make a treatment unsafe.
Prescription-only medicines
Some treatments involve prescription-only medicines. These are prescribed only after a face-to-face consultation, and supplied through a registered pharmacy. We do not prescribe remotely, and we do not hold stock for anyone who has not been assessed.
Results
Aesthetic treatment is not an exact science and no result can be guaranteed. How you respond depends on your anatomy, your skin, your age, your general health and how you follow aftercare. Results vary between people and between appointments.
Some treatments need more than one session to reach the result discussed. Where that is likely, we will say so before you commit.
A two-week review is included in the price of your treatment. It is there so we can see how you have settled and decide together whether anything needs adjusting — often nothing does.
Aftercare and review
You will be given written aftercare and a number to contact. Following the aftercare matters: some complications are avoidable, and some are made worse by not following it. Where a review appointment is offered, please attend it.
If something goes wrong
Side effects such as redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and settle on their own. Genuine complications are rare but possible, and they are taken seriously.
Contact us first, on the number given with your aftercare, including out of hours. We hold emergency protocols and a dissolving agent on site and have a named prescriber available. If you have severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, or you believe you are facing a life-threatening emergency, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.
We are insured with Hamilton Fraser for medical malpractice and public liability.
Prices and payment
Current prices are shown on our booking system at the point of booking. The price you are shown when you book is the price you pay for that treatment, unless the plan changes at consultation and you agree to something different.
A deposit is taken to hold your appointment and is deducted from the cost of your treatment. The balance is payable on the day, before you leave. We accept card, cash and bank transfer.
Consultations booked on their own are charged, and redeemable against your first treatment.
Changing or cancelling
Deposits, notice periods, late cancellations and no-shows are covered in our cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of your care, please tell us as soon as you can, by email or phone. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and respond fully within 20 working days.
If you remain unhappy, you can raise a concern about a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council at nmc.org.uk.
Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited.
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, or for loss caused by you giving us inaccurate information about your health or by not following the aftercare you were given.
We do not accept liability for business losses, as our services are supplied to you for private use.
This website
The content of this site is for general information about our services. It is not medical advice and is no substitute for a consultation. Treatment descriptions are general: what is right for you is decided in person.
We try to keep the site accurate and up to date but do not warrant that it is free of errors. Prices and availability are held on our booking system, not here, and that system is operated by Fresha under their own terms.
The text, photographs, design and branding on this site belong to us and may not be reproduced without permission.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your treatment is the one published when you booked.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
